Exercise 4

 I recently took an online test called BELBINS TEAM ROLES, Belbin categorised characteristics needed to for a functional team, people are able to have one or more of these characteristics that identify their strengths and weaknesses but he believes a perfectly functional team should meet all the criteria that include; Resource Investigator, Team-Worker, Co-Ordinator, Plant, Monitor, evaluator, Specialist, Shaper, Implementer and Completer Finisher. These roles in Belbins' theory play to the individuals strengths and how the individual uses his role to strengthen the team. After taking Belbins' test my top three results were;

Innovator: Generating the creative ideas for the team, as an innovator I have a strong imagination and I like to be original. As a creative individual I play a crucial role in the way I approach tasks and solve problems within my team. An innovator prefers to be independent and tends to approach tasks in a scientific way.

Executive: The executive is sometimes referred to as the organiser. The executive is generally disciplined and eager to get the job done. I am efficient, practical and systematic. Executives are well organised, diligent and quickly turn the ideas into concrete actions and practical plans.

Explorer: generally by nature the Explorer is an extrovert. I am cheerful and high spirited. As an explorer I am investigative, interested and curious about things. Because an explorer likes to improvise and communicate with others I would have little problem presenting ideas to the team and developing new contacts.
